My YMX picks for favorites of 2007

1. Best youth ministry book
Honestly did not read many new ones but one that is becoming a need in my ministry right now is "Sex God" by Rob Bell. It is still so unfathomable that people are so sex hungry these days and it is happening younger and younger.
2. Best innovation (new thing.. chubby bunny need not apply, lifetime achievement there)
The Beach Ball passed around with questions from the "Would you Rather" and "Unfinished Sentences" books. My kids can pass those around for hours.
3. Best worship song for use in youth ministry (copyright 2006 or 2007)
Hmm.... I don't know if it is a worship song really but it definitely punches you in the gut and makes you think -- "If you wanted me" by Todd Agnew

4. Best Christian artist for youth ministry [who your students like the most; not limited to Christian labels or “CCM genre”]
My youth really enjoy Superchick. THat is one of the bands they want to see whenever they get the opportunity.

Please pray for the 17 people who will be heading to Key West for a Servant Week this Sunday. Pray for a safe plane trip. Pray for encounters with God. Pray for great weather. Pray for growth as a group.

Pool Party Tuesday night

Don't forget if you are in high school (going into 9th grade through just graduated) -- we are having a pool party Tuesday night at the Lopez's neighborhood pool. It will start at 8:00 and end at 9:45pm. You are required to be there if you are going to Florida. At 9:45 we will have a MANDATORY NO EXCEPTIONS meeting to discuss rules and expectations.
